FIRST Robotics Competition Finger Lakes Regional — 2018
Full event-production support at Rochester Institute of Technology, including crewing, camera/audio/video technicians, projection, drape, team-pit power distribution, arena and pit audio reinforcement, live match streaming, and production coordination.
March 14–17, 2018 • Rochester Institute of TechnologyAt a glance
A regional robotics competition built across an arena, field, and full team-pit environment.
Jx2 supported the FIRST Robotics Competition Finger Lakes Regional at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, from March 14 through March 17, 2018.
The event required technical production across two distinct operating environments: the main competition arena and the large team-pit area supporting participating robotics teams throughout the event.
Jx2 production scope
Crewing, show systems, pit infrastructure, and live streaming.
Load-in & infrastructure
Build the production environment before the robots arrive.
The early setup photos show the scale of the arena before competition activity filled the room: team-pit tables laid out across the floor, drape separating operational areas, power distribution routed through the pits, the main projection screen installed, and the arena audio system in place.

Video & streaming
Production control for a live competition audience and remote viewers.
Jx2’s production crew included camera operators and video technicians supporting match coverage, along with the live-streaming workflow that carried competition action beyond the room.
The control position coordinated the video feed, competition content, and match coverage while technicians supported the live arena experience.

From an empty floor to a full regional competition.

Production coordination
One event, multiple technical environments.
The Finger Lakes Regional required the arena production, robot-team pit infrastructure, audio systems, video coverage, projection, streaming, drape, power, and technical labor to work as one coordinated event environment.
That type of multi-system coordination is directly relevant to conferences, competitions, higher-education programs, festivals, corporate meetings, and other events where guest-facing production and operational infrastructure have to coexist.
Complex competitions need more than a single technical system.
Jx2 coordinates the people, infrastructure, video, audio, power, streaming, and show-site systems that let technically demanding live events operate as one production.
